Porcelain Backsplash Slabs: Big Panels, Fewer Seams, Less Cleaning

porcelain backsplash slabs

If you cook a lot in the fall and winter, you know how much a backsplash gets splashed. Porcelain backsplash slabs are one of the easiest surfaces to keep clean, and they come in large panels that can cover a wall with very few seams. Here is where they shine and what to plan for.

Why Large Panels Matter

Traditional backsplashes have many small pieces, and every joint is a place for grease to collect. Porcelain comes in large slabs, so there are far fewer joints. A wipe with mild soap and water is usually all it takes.

What Porcelain Does Well

  • Resists heat, scratches, and stains
  • Does not need sealing
  • Comes in marble, stone, and concrete looks
  • Works well for a taller or full-height backsplash

What to Plan For

Porcelain is very hard, but an exposed edge can chip with a hard hit, so edge detailing matters. Cutouts for outlets, switches, and windows need to be planned before fabrication, and electrical changes are handled by a licensed electrician. Fabrication is more specialized than with some other materials, which is why we plan it with you early.

The Look

Many porcelain slabs mimic natural marble or stone, so you can get a beautiful veined look with easy care. Seeing the slab in person helps you decide whether you like it. You can learn more on our porcelain countertops page, and see finished work in our project gallery.

How We Work

We fabricate and install porcelain backsplash slabs, and our focus is the stone portion of the project. See our backsplash page for more. We are not a general contractor, so cabinets, plumbing, and electrical work are handled by other professionals. We sell tile, but we do not install it. We work with homeowners in Newbury Park and Dos Vientos Ranch, and the service area page lists the other communities we serve.
